Victoria my sorrows gallows
Play to hear in the writer's voice
I know it's all over but if you need me you'll find me down at hippo point where man meets beasts,
seated on a rock listening to Victoria serenade me.
You'll find me down at hippo point watching king fishers dive by for dinner, listening to Victoria's dark secrets carried in the wings of wind,
riding the roar of tides.
You'll find me down by hippo point watching the sun set as Victoria begs me to let her drown my pains and thoughts,
to let her take them with her to bed with the sun.
You'll find me down at hippo point filling my lungs with the familiar scent of fish, my soul dancing to Victoria's tunes.
You'll find me down at hippo point watching brave souls in boats yawing,
dancing to the music of the lake.
You'll find me down at hippo point hopping from rock to rock chasing memories of your lips and smile.
You'll find me down at hippo point, when one day you need our love,
with paper and pen fishing for words to write a poem about how I miss you.
